Google and Time Executives to Visit Lindner on Oct. 20

When the UC INFORMS (Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences) student chapter at the Lindner College of Business learned that several analytics professionals would be in town for a conference, they reached out to invite them to UC.

Thanks to the students’ interest, several of the world’s foremost data analytics experts were very open to meeting with them.

Neil Hoyne, the head of global consumer analytics at Google, and J.T. Kostman, chief data officer at Time, Inc., will speak to the student group whose interests in data analysis align with their extensive professional experience.

Kostman’s talk begins at 7:30 p.m. and Hoyne will begin at 8:35 p.m. on October 20 in room 112 at Lindner Hall. The talk is free and open to the public.

Kostman holds a PhD in psychology from the City University of New York and completed his post-doctoral work in mathematics and physics at the New England Complex Systems Institute at Harvard and MIT. A decorated veteran, he served as a team leader of an elite reconnaissance team with the US Army Special Forces. His experience in leveraging data to better understand customers and identify marketing opportunities includes work at Keurig Green Mountain, Samsung, AIG and several US intelligence, defense and security agencies, as well as the Obama 2012 presidential campaign on social media analysis and insights.
