Open Consultation Days

The Center for Excellence in eLearning will host Open Consultation Days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., August 17-19. This three-day professional development event is an opportunity for faculty to work one-on-one with instructional technologists, designers and support specialists on a walk-in basis. Consultants will be available to answer questions about Blackboard, Kaltura, Echo360 and strategies for improving teaching and learning. WebEx access is available for those who cannot physically attend.

Ancient Maya blessed their ballcourts

Using environmental DNA analysis, researchers identified a collection of plants used in ceremonial rituals in the ancient Maya city of Yaxnohcah. The plants, known for their religious associations and medicinal properties, were discovered beneath a plaza floor upon which a ballcourt was built, suggesting the building might have been blessed or consecrated during construction.
