Make October your month to train with the guidance of a University of Cincinnati Campus Recreation personal trainer.

personal training session with every five sessions purchased during the month of October. Training sessions can last up to 45 minutes.

Our friendly, knowledgeable and certified staff will provide careful instruction, accountability, and motivation designed around your personal health and fitness goals. All trainers hold a minimum of one nationally accredited certification. Campus Rec experienced trainers hold nationally recognized certifications through the following organizations: American Council on Exercise (ACE®), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM®), National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA®), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA™), as well as others.

Training sessions can be purchased at the member services desk at both the CARE/Crawley Fitness Center and the Campus Rec Center.

Ancient Maya blessed their ballcourts

Using environmental DNA analysis, researchers identified a collection of plants used in ceremonial rituals in the ancient Maya city of Yaxnohcah. The plants, known for their religious associations and medicinal properties, were discovered beneath a plaza floor upon which a ballcourt was built, suggesting the building might have been blessed or consecrated during construction.
