Donors Needed for UC All-Campus Blood Drive

The University of Cincinnati all-campus blood drive is back again, scheduled for Monday, Jan. 30 through Friday, Feb. 3. Each donor will receive a limited edition UC-branded beanie as a thank you.

“Blood donations typically dip this time of year, as cold weather and illnesses often prevent people from donating,” says Alecia Lipton, Hoxworth spokesperson. “We are counting on the UC community to help us save lives in the Tri-State area by making a blood donation. During our last all-campus blood drive we collected over 700 blood products, and we’re hoping to collect even more this time around.”

The drive will take place in Tangeman University Center’s Great Hall from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with special hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday. Hoxworth invites all UC students, faculty, staff and the entire Tri-State community to make a donation during the drive.

The last UC campus drive in late November 2016 resulted in 864 registered blood donors and 710 collected blood products.

Appointments are highly encouraged due to the popularity of this event, but walk-ins are welcome. Schedule an appointment by calling (513) 451-0910 or visit www.hoxworth.org/groups/uc.
