Sign Up for UC/Metro EZ Ride Card Program
As the 2017-18 academic year gets underway, University of Cincinnati students, faculty and staff can enroll in the EZ Ride Card program.
Those who sign up for the EZ Ride Card will pay $1 per ride, with no zone fees. Riders with the card can purchase a transfer for 50 cents. This represents a 43 percent discount for members of the UC campus community.

UCs participation in the EZ Ride Card program, implemented in partnership with UC Student Government and UC Faculty Senate, is designed to better meet the needs of the campus community.
According to ridership data, the EZ Ride Card program will better serve the UC community than did the former Metro Card program. The Metro Card program cost students $53 per semester; however, the average student enrolled in the program was taking 31 rides per semester on Metro. In other words, with the EZ Ride Card program, the average student user of the Metro Card program would have paid only $31 per semester to travel by Metro bus. Thus, the EZ Ride Card is more economical for the average student user, and the Metro Pass and EZ Ride Pass access the same Metro routes.
According to Joe Harrell, associate vice president for Facilities Management, by switching to the EZ Ride program, the $100,000 subsidy the university formerly invested in the Metro Pass program will be instead invested in the UC Bearcat Transportation System (UC shuttle service), which is popular with a large number of students. That means no increase in student fees to support the Bearcat Transportation System (shuttle service).
- UC Bearcat Transportation (UC Shuttle Services) is not affected by the UC/Metro EZ Ride Card program. For information about UC shuttle service, go online to uc.edu/shuttle
