Lindner Alumnus Receives Prestigious Award from International Fraternity

University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner College of Business alumnus Nicholas Partie, BBA’17, was honored in July 2017 at Pi Kappa Alpha’s annual academy, a three-day leadership summit held in Memphis, Tennessee. Partie received the Robertson Most Outstanding Undergraduate Award, which awards an outstanding graduating senior with a $2,500 scholarship each year. 

Partie graduated magna cum laude in April 2017 with a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting and international business, as well as a minor in business analytics. As a freshman, he was selected as one of 25 students to participate in the Lindner Honors-PLUS program, which is designed for highly motivated individuals with superior academic ability and demonstrated leadership skills. 

During his college career at the University of Cincinnati, Partie was also invited to join honorary societies such as Sigma Sigma, Men of Metro, Phi Rho Chi and Order of Omega. He served as a campus ambassador, student government senator and vice president, and was a member of the university’s Bicentennial Commission.

Partie has donated countless hours of community service supporting a variety of causes, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Isabella County Soup Kitchen, Matthew 25: Ministries, Cincinnati Dance Marathon, Casa Pro Kids, Cycle for Life, Relay for Life, Neurosurgery Fitzpatrick Chiari Foundation, Shriner’s, Karen Wellington Living with Breast Cancer Foundation, the American Red Cross, Into the Streets, Keep Cincinnati Beautiful, Give Back Cincinnati, Accounting for Kids and Adopt-a-Family. He also assisted in rebuilding houses in New Orleans' Lower Ninth Ward that were damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, and led a seven-person team to Nicaragua with Serve Beyond Cincinnati to help provide running water to a small village in Managua. 

Within the Alpha Chi chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha, Partie held numerous leadership positions that included president and recruitment chairman. He was voted Pike of the Year, received the Cedric E. Vogle Award from the local College Education and Charitable Foundation, was named IFC President of the Year in 2016, and was a member of Homecoming Court.

Upon graduation, Partie accepted a job with IBM as a Global Business Services Consultant and is currently living in New York City.
