Celebrate Youth – Legacy 25

highlights some of the finest, most-recognized children's choir repertoire as well as new and past commissions.

Since the organizations founding, the Cincinnati Children’s Choir has always had deep ties with CCM. The choral ensemble regularly collaborates with the CCM Music Education Division, the CCM Opera Department and the CCM Division of Ensembles and Conducting. The Cincinnati Children’s Choir became Ensemble-in-Residence at CCM in August 2001 and is lead by Artistic Director and Founder,

This award-winning choir is an educationally based choral ensemble program with more than 950 youth students from across the Greater Cincinnati region. Members perform in seven resident choirs, eight satellite choirs, Cincinnati Public School Honor Choir, Queen City Festival, summer festival choir and the Cincinnati Choral Academy.

The Cincinnati Children’s Choir’s touring choir, Bel Canto, includes 85 singers in grades 6 through 12 with excellent vocal technique and strong sight-singing skills. Bel Canto has been recognized with awards from Chorus America/ASCAP (2016), American Prize in Choral Performance (2015) and a Gold Medal in the 2012 World Choir Games. Singers in this group rehearse twice each week and maintain a prestigious performance and touring schedule. The choir has toured Scandinavia, England, Ireland, Wales, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Canada and extensively throughout the United States.

The March 18 concert features performances from all of the choruses that encompass the Cincinnati Children’s Choir. The performance includes premieres of commissioned works by

Celebrate Youth – Legacy 25 represents a culmination of the history and significance of this nationally celebrated ensemble and the impact the Cincinnati Children’s Choir has had on the lives of children as well as the entire Cincinnati area.
