Get to Know Autumn Hart, MA (She|They)

Clinical Psych Trainee

Autumn Hart, she/they, is a Clinical Psychology Trainee located at the UC CAPS Calhoun location. She is in her third year of her PsyD at Xavier University.  
 
Autumn’s therapeutic approach is still developing, but she works from a CBT and DBT lens and has strong interests working with students who are working through trauma, gender based violence, exploring their identities, and building a life worth living. Autumn hopes to support clients by building a strong collaborative relationship that centers the client’s lived experience. 
 
When neither at work nor engaged in grad student activities, Autumn enjoys peaceful hobbies at home like taking care of her dog and fish, crochet, and baking and exploring coffee shops, thrift/antique shops, plant stores, and nature around Cincinnati. 

If I wasn't in this line of work, I would be: Working with animals in some capacity, possibly as a wildlife rehabilitator. 

A book that has impacted me: I would recommend Katabasis by R.F. Kuang to all prospective graduate students. This book is clever, immersive, and provides one of the best most faithful portrayals of the emotions associated with graduate school that I have seen.

What I do to take care of myself after a challenging day/time/situation: When I need to relax, I enjoy taking hot baths, dancing to Reggaeton (especially Bad Bunny), and cuddling with my partner and our dog.
