What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
I enjoy spending time with my dogs, especially going for walks and visiting the dog park. When we’re not out with the pups, my partner and I like cooking together and finding a good series to binge-watch.
What coping skills do you recommend to clients that you also use yourself?
To manage stress, I set aside intentional time to disconnect and engage in low-demand activities that don’t require much verbal interaction, such as napping, yoga, playing with my dogs, simple cleaning, or unplugging from devices. I also find it helpful to connect with a trusted friend when I need support, feedback, or a sounding board. In addition, I enjoy creative outlets like painting and photography—not for perfection, but for the opportunity to create and unwind.
If you weren’t in this line of work, what would you be doing?
I would love to be a professional dog trainer. Animals have had a significant impact on my life, and I would enjoy learning more about the science of engagement and helping others strengthen their bond with their pets.
