
Rising enrollment: Bearcats student body stands at 45,949
This year is officially one for the record books. Official enrollment for 2018-19 is now confirmed at 45,949, capping six straight years of record enrollment.
Before the start of school, the University of Cincinnati projected that enrollment would hit at least 45,000 students – marking a new record for UC.
And as colleges and universities across the state and nation hit the “census” date, the 15th day of the Fall term, when they take their official tallies, UC’s new record enrollment stands at 45,949.
Undergraduate, graduate and professional student numbers all saw gains this year at UC.
- The undergraduate student body rose nearly 2 percent, going from 34,187 in Fall 2017 to a record 34,819 this fall. This includes the Uptown Campus and regional campuses (UC Blue Ash College and UC Clermont College). UC Blue Ash welcomed a record class of first-time, degree-seeking undergrads.
- The total graduate and professional student body, which includes law and medical students, increased 5 percent, rising from 10,596 in Fall 2017 to a record 11,131 this fall.
- More international students are choosing UC. In Fall 2017, UC enrolled 3,447 international students. That’s up about 3 percent to a record 3,557 this fall, representing 114 countries.
- Online programs have reached record numbers, with nearly 6,000 students enrolled in fully online degree programs.
- The incoming baccalaureate class of Fall 2018 is also the brightest in the university’s history, boasting significant increases in average ACT score (26.4 ), SAT score (1258) and GPA (3.7).

They are first high school students in UC's College Credit Plus Program to earn bachelor's degrees.
UC's first Marian Spencer Scholar set to graduate

Katelyn Cotton, an alum of Cincinnati's Walnut Hills High School, is the first Marian Spencer Scholar to graduate from the University of Cincinnati. Cotton, a political science major, will return for graduate school. She hopes to attend law school in the future.
