UC Siemens Center presents at IFEES Webinar

The University of Cincinnati's Siemens Simulation Technology Center gave a presentation to engineers from around the world during a webinar sponsored by the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies.

UC simulation center directors Sam Anand and Jay Kim, both Ph.D., presented on integration of Siemens simulation apps within the engineering curriculum.

The International Federation of Engineering Education Societies offers webinars for engineering educators and stakeholders. These global webinars are attended by individuals from academia and industry. Many cutting-edge and controversial topics in engineering and engineering pedagogy are discussed in these webinars.

The webinar began with Gil Morris, project manager at Siemens Digital Industries Software, introducing the center and its directors. Anand highlighted the curriculum integration and industry outreach for digital manufacturing and additive manufacturing at the center.

He shared the various tools developed at the center that are integrated with Siemens NX software.

Kim continued by highlighting the vertical integration of courses with simulation software in the curriculum for both undergraduate and graduate students. He expressed the need to nurture engineers with strong fundamental knowledge and simulation technology.

About 440 people around the world attended the webinar.
