Media Production launches summer in LA internship program

Students can earn class credit by working paid internships in Los Angeles

UC College-Conservatory of Music's BFA Media Production program announces the "Summer in LA" internship program, providing students with the opportunity to work and live in the heart of the film and television industry while earning college credit during paid internships.

Many Media Production alums go on to work in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles, California. The Division is working to connect those alums with current students who've been chosen for paid internship opportunities during the summer. In LA students can make connections with media professionals and begin their careers in the city of dreams.

CCM Summer in LA builds upon the Media Production program’s focus on experiential learning, providing students with the hands-on skills and digital portfolio necessary to transition successfully into the professional world. Paid internship opportunities in LA include:

  • Universal Music Group
  • The Walt Disney Company
  • Searchlight Pictures
  • Samsung
  • Sirius XM
  • Fox Sports
  • Fox Entertainment
  • Amazon Studios
  • The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation Summer Internship Program
  • And more!

Additional information about these internships is available on the Media Production Canvas Community page (student login required). For more information, contact Media Production Division Head Kevin Burke.

Students will be responsible for their own housing, food and transportation costs during the paid internships. CCM Media Production has established a "Summer in LA" award to help cover student travel costs. These small cash awards will be presented as part of the Media Production Excellence Awards in March. The Excellence Awards recognize excellence in Media Production students, faculty, staff and alumni, and are granted to students by Media Production faculty.

Students are encouraged to apply for funding support from the National Co-Op Ambassador Scholarship. This scholarship provides tuition assistance up to $4,000 per semester if you co-op or intern in certain cities including Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Nashville, New York, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington, DC. Learn more about the scholarship at uc.edu/campus-life/careereducation/get-experience/scholarship.
