CCM Summer in LA builds on the Media Production program’s focus on experiential learning, providing students with the hands-on skills and digital portfolio necessary to transition successfully into the professional world. This summer, two Media Production seniors are interning in LA: Christian Arruda and Eliot Harned.
Christian Arruda is from Heath, Ohio. He is a junior in CCM's BFA Media Production program, pursuing the Film and Television Production track. This summer, Arruda is interning with Amgen, Inc. in Thousand Oaks, California, where he assists with producing short- and long-form content in the production studio, including podcasts, executive videos and social media pieces. After graduation, he hopes to work in the Asian and Asian American film industry as a successful director of photography and, someday, produce his own films or assist in producing.
Eliot Harned is a senior in CCM's BFA Media Production program from Columbus, Ohio. He is in the Film and Television Production track with professional aspirations of working roles in the camera department. This summer, Harned is working interning at Brad Hammer Productions, an award-winning boutique production company founded by Brad Hammer, a 2000 CCM Media Production alumnus. The production company specializes in commercials, music videos, VIP event videos, social media videos, documentaries and viral videos.. Harned is working on a mix of editing and cinematography. During his time working with Brad Hammer, he was able to film The Pussycat Dolls, The Blue Man Group and Ava Max. After graduation, Harned is hoping to work in the film industry in LA or other locations around the United States as a freelance videographer and in various camera department roles. During his time at CCM, Harned has completed two Internships at Mills James Production in Ohio, as well as working at the University Honors Program for two and a half years as a Design and Media Student Associate. As a freelancer and student researcher, he has worked on projects with The New Heights Podcast, Scotts Mircle Gro, P&G, Sazerac, Great American Insurance, US Bank and Kao Brands.
