IT@UC 'Wraps Up' Year with Limited IT Support, Planned Maintenance
Plan ahead: Limited IT support during Winter Season Days
The IT@UC Service Desk will have limited staff available to respond only to IT emergencies and other major incidents during Winter Season Days. Phone and chat support for Canopy tools such as Blackboard, Box at UC, Echo360, Kaltura and WebEx will not be available while the university is closed for Winter Season Days.
To report an IT emergency during Winter Season Days (Thursday, Dec. 24, to Sunday, Jan. 3), please contact the Service Desk locally at 513-556-HELP (4357), toll free at 1-866-397-3382, or via email at HelpDesk@uc.edu. The Service Desk and 24/7 Canopy Support will resume normal operations on Monday, Jan 4, 2016.

Systems unavailable during several planned IT maintenance windows
In preparation for the start of spring semester, several systems will be unavailable during planned maintenance windows around Winter Season Days.
- 5-7 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 17: Blackboard, the universitys learning management system, will be unavailable. PLEASE NOTE: Fall semester 2015 grades are due Wednesday, Dec. 16, at 5 p.m.
- Saturday, Dec. 19, and Sunday, Dec. 20: Starfish, the early alert system within Blackboard, will be intermittently unavailable.
- 4 a.m., Monday, Dec. 21: The following services will be temporarily unavailable for approximately 15 minutes during a necessary network maintenance window:
- Internet and network connectivity at UC Blue Ash, UC Clermont, UC East, remote locations of Hoxworth Blood Center, and Victory Parkway offices.
- Video conferencing services.
- Voicemail service to the entire university community.
- VoIP (voice over IP) service to the entire university community.
- Internet access at the Kingsgate Marriott Hotel located on the Medical Campus. - 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday, Dec. 21: Echo360, the university's enterprise lecture-capture tool, will be unavailable.

In 2025 the Ohio Reach Postsecondary designation was awarded to UC's College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services, and Information Technology (CECH) as part of the program's third cohort. The program recognizes and supports higher education institutions that have worked to make their campuses welcoming and accessible for students with a history in foster or kinship care. CECH will run a pilot program called Anchor Point aimed at wide-scale implementation across the campus in Fall 2026.
