Undergraduate Studies
The Vice Provost for Undergraduate Studies is responsible for the general health and welfare of academic matters related to undergraduate education, student academic success, accreditation, experiential learning, teaching and learning, general education, and undergraduate curriculum development, assessment, and reporting. The Vice Provost provides vision and leadership and is responsible for numerous university programs and offices including Career Education (co-op, internship, service learning, undergraduate research, UC Forward), the Office of First Year Experience and Learning Communities, the Center for Enhancement of Teaching and Learning, and the University’s General Education Program. In this role, the Vice Provost also advocates and provides expertise for the colleges and student affairs offices related to these areas.
In addition, the Vice Provost is the liaison to the university’s accrediting body (Higher Learning Commission), chairs and directs the policy of the Textbook Affordability Committee, the Athletic Advisory Council, the Academic Standing Committee, the Associate Deans Council (co-chair), and the Academic Committee, and serves as part of the Provost’s senior leadership team.
