Electrical engineering student encourages young women in STEM

For four years, University of Cincinnati doctoral student Brooke Campbell has been a graduate assistant in the UC Undergraduates Pursuing Research in Science and Engineering (UPRISE) program. After working for five years in the tech industry, she returned to school to pursue a graduate degree. Her research work focuses on using a process called electrospinning to create nanofibers loaded with medicine for targeted drug delivery. She was named Graduate Student Engineer of the Month by UC’s College of Engineering and Applied Science.

Brothers with giving hearts support first-generation students

They co-founded Level Up Cincinnati, a nonprofit that bridges the gaps between high school, college and career with mentorship and coaching for marginalized students.

News 5 Cleveland: Cleveland Heights settles lawsuit with DNA exoneree for $4 million

March 15, 2023

The city of Cleveland Heights will pay $4 million to settle a federal civil rights lawsuit by Chistopher Miller, an Ohio Innocence Project exoneree. Miller, 46, spent 17 years behind bars after being wrongfully convicted in a sexual assault and robbery case. Miller was the 27th defendant whose wrongful conviction was overturned with the help of UC Law students and faculty.
