Aerospace engineering students win engine design competition

Each year, the Air Force Research Laboratory's Aerospace Propulsion Outreach Program (APOP) develops an engineering challenge for college students across the nation. The 2026 challenge was to design a heat exchanger for a small gas turbine engine. The University of Cincinnati student team placed first. The team adviser was Professor Jongguen Lee.

UC grad brings unique perspective to criminal justice work

The child of a police lieutenant, Ashley grew up going on ride-alongs with her dad, learning about the work he did out on the beat. She earned her MS in criminal justice from UC and went on to pursue a doctorate focused on correctional rehabilitation, which she ultimately decided to forgo after four years of study. In 2012, Ashley launched Bauman Consulting Group, a criminal justice consulting firm serving law enforcement, courts, corrections, and related public and social sector agencies.

UC DTS delivers on Wi-Fi expansion — more developments to come

In the spring of 2023, the University of Cincinnati's Digital Technology Solutions began a multi-year project with goals of enhancing wireless connectivity across campus. The improvements focus on ensuring robust and reliable wireless service in key student areas. Buildings with the highest traffic, such as residence halls and academic buildings, received upgrades first. UC's goal remains to ensure comprehensive wireless coverage in all university spaces and maintain network adaptability, to meet evolving university needs.
