Cincinnati-Area School Students Come to UC to Be "Engineer for a Day"

On Saturday, April 23, more than 150 Cincinnati-area parents, teachers, middle- and high-school students will participate in the 11th annual Engineer for a Day program. Engineer for A Day is hosted by the Cincinnati Alumni Extension and University of Cincinnati chapters of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and sponsored by Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America and UC s College of Engineering. From 8:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m., students from across the tri-state area will spend their Saturday learning the many functions of engineers.

UC Women s Center Seeks Volunteers for New Peer Advocate Program

The UC Women s Center launches a new program to provide peer support to survivors of sexual assault, intimate-partner violence and stalking. The program will recruit and train 15 students to advocate for and assist student survivors, serving as yet another dimension of UC s support system. Application deadline is May 2.

Stephen Marc Lecture Going On Today in DAAP

The Stephen Marc lecture "Passage on the Underground Railroad: An Artist Exploring the Past with the Technology of the Future," sponsored by the Taft Memorial Fund and the departments of English, History, African and African American Studies and Fine Arts, is scheduled for today, April 14, at 4 p.m. in 5401 DAAP. The lecture will be followed by a reception for his exhibition at the Reed Gallery, DAAP, from 5 to 7 p.m.

UC's "E-Center" Holds 7th Annual Entrepreneurship Recognition Banquet May 13

The UC Center for Entrepreneurship Education & Research ("E-Center") recognizes entrepreneurial leadership and excellence at its annual Entrepreneurship Recognition Banquet each spring. The banquet, which was first held in 1999, recognizes both successful entrepreneurs who have a connection to the University of Cincinnati community, as well as students who represent the next generation of entrepreneurs.
