UC and the future of fashion

Right after the University of Cincinnati’s commencement, graduating fashion design students presented a culmination of their student experience: A runway collection uniquely tailored to each artist’s vision. The 43 graduating fashion design students of UC's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) presented nearly 200 creations from graduating seniors that ranged from ready-to-wear knits to avant-garde corsetry in the 73rd annual DAAP fashion show, DAAPFASH26.

UC students engineer first-place-winning hydraulic bicycle

For more than a decade, students in the University of Cincinnati Fluid Power Club has designed, built and competed a hydraulic bicycle in the annual National Fluid Power Association’s Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge, where students develop a bicycle-like vehicle fully powered by pneumatics and hydraulics. For the first time, the Bearcats brought home the grand champion title this year. A group of fifth-year mechanical engineering technology students joined together to design, develop, and finetune the vehicle.

CCM Stage Design alumna receives prestigious Rome Prize

UC College-Conservatory of Music alumna Cameron Anderson (MFA Stage Design, '02) is a 2026 recipient of the Rome Prize, a national competition that supports innovative work in various disciplines across the arts and humanities. The American Academy in Rome announced Anderson won the Billie Tsien Rome Prize in Design.
