Frequently Asked Questions About OLLI at UC

Students pay a membership fee of $90 per term, which includes the opportunity to enroll in dozens of one-time programs and presentations at no additional cost. Most multiweek courses have a $5 fee. Fieldtrips may have a nonrefundable admission charge. Scholarships are available to all who need them: call 513-556-9186 or email olli@uc.edu.

Approximately 3 to 4 weeks before the term begins. Check the website, watch for a mailer, sign up to receive the OLLI e-Newsletter, or follow OLLI at University of Cincinnati on Facebook for notification that registration is open.

During the first week of class, check in at the Welcome Table at each location to pick up classroom assignments. If you miss the first week of classes, call the office at (513) 556-9186. Classroom assignments are also posted online under Member Resources about one week before classes begin.

Yes! OLLI classes are designed for anyone aged 50 or better. The only prerequisite is a love of learning.

No. OLLI classes are for your personal enrichment. For information about completing a degree, becoming a non-matriculate/non-degree seeking student, or auditing regular UC classes for free, check out the options at Senior Audit.

No. OLLI classes are for your personal enrichment. Some moderators may suggest outside readings or other assignments to enhance the course content.

No. Communiversity at University of Cincinnati offers a wide range of classes on evenings and weekends.

There is no penalty for missing classes—except that you will miss out on the information presented that day. If you register for classes that you do not attend, you may prevent another member from filling that place.

If we can move a class to a larger classroom or add another section, we will reopen the class for registration and notify people on the wait list. 

No. You must become a member and register for classes when registration opens each term.

OLLI classes are offered in accessible locations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Please call Accessibility Resources at (513) 556-6823 well in advance of your class to discuss your particular needs. Some fieldtrip opportunities or classes may take place outdoors or in historic venues that are not accessible to those with mobility challenges.
