In general, OLLI follows UC's winter weather closure, so if UC Main Campus is closed or delayed, then OLLI is closed or delayed. A notice will appear on our webpages and on local media. Some class locations, such as Adath Israel or Ohio Living Llanfair, may close when UC is open, so check local media. Some moderators may also opt to cancel their class when UC is open, so check your email.

Zoom-only classes will continue as scheduled, but hybrid classes (with some in person and some online) will be cancelled. When in doubt about the weather, please stay home, stay warm, and stay safe!

Our friends at Broadway Cincinnati have offered a special discount offer for OLLI.

Benefits include:

  • Access to seats before tickets are sold to the general public.
  • Savings of 10 to 50 percent on select performances.
  • Significantly reduced service fees.
  • Ability to select and purchase seats online.

  • Access available shows, dates, and times here.
  • Always select the lowest price (even if it is labeled Group or Student).

Research Participation Opportunity

OLLI supports research in areas related to older adults by publicizing opportunities to participate in student or faculty-led research.

Yuchen Ou, a second-year design graduate student at UC College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning, seeks participants for her thesis research on “Mitigating Barriers to Healthy Diet Preparation for Elderly Through Design.” Selected volunteers will use a booklet to record their feelings about meal preparation over the course of three days, spending 10-20 minutes per day on the project.

The purpose of this study is to identify and reduce barriers to healthy food preparation for older adults. Eligible participants are:

  1. Interested in this research.
  2. Native English speakers.
  3. Between the ages of 68 and 78.
  4. Have experience cooking for themselves at home.

You can find the full description and a copy of the research booklet here.
