RIDE FREE UC: UC Metro Pass

Ride Metro at no cost with a UC Metro pass. UC students, faculty and staff receive free access to all Metro fixed-route services.

New this fall, Metro Route 70, the UC Connector, will provide direct weekday service between UC Uptown and UC Blue Ash, offering  convenient transportation 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday - Friday.

To get started, download the Transit app, and register for your UC Metro  pass.

Get Your UC Metro Pass

Registration has opened for the Fall Semester of Ride Free UC, UC Metro Pass.  Register here for your UC Metro Pass fall semseter pass. Passes will be active starting Monday, Aug. 17, and are valid through January 10, 2027. Please allow up to 5 business days for the UC Metro Pass to appear in your account. 

Step 1: Download the Transit App

Step 2: Set Up Your Transit App Account

  • Open the Transit App
    • If you already have a Transit account with the app using a different email address, you will need to set up a new one using your UC-assigned email address.
    •  Make sure you enable the EZfare ticketing option that will sync to your Transit account.            
  • Tap the profile/settings icon in the top-left corner
  • Scroll down to the “Sign in” section
  • Tap “Sign in” to create an account using your UC email address

Step 3: Register for Your Free, Fall UC Metro Pass

  • Have your UC 6+2 and password ready for login
  • Open the UC Metro Pass registration web page
  • Login using your UC 6+2 and password
  • Once access is granted, enter in the academic year and submit
  • Continue to follow the registration instructions 

Step 4: Getting on the bus

  • When you board a Metro bus, tap your ticket barcode on the validator, and show the operator your UC student ID.

Important:  

  • UC Metro Pass participants must register each semester. 
  • Fall passes are valid for the Fall semester only. 
  • Spring passes are valid for both the Spring and Summer semesters. 
  • Please allow up to 5 business days for the UC Metro Pass to appear in your account.

Eligibility for Registration

Students

To be eligible to participate in the program, a UC student must:

  1. Be enrolled in classes AND
  2. Possess a valid UC Photo Identification Card (from UC Public Safety)

Ride Free UC is available for students who are enrolled in classes at the time of registration.

Employees

To be eligible to participate in the program, a UC employee must:

  1. Be actively employed AND
  2. Possess a valid UC Photo Identification Card (from UC Public Safety)

Ride Free UC may only be used by staff/faculty members who are employed by UC at the time of registration.
