Email and Newsletters

The University of Cincinnati recognizes the importance of ensuring that our email and newsletter communications are accessible to all recipients, including those with disabilities. While we do not have an official enterprise-wide tool for creating and distributing emails and newsletters, we require that all communications meet accessibility standards.

All emails and newsletters should comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. This includes ensuring that the content is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust. Examples of accessibility requirements include providing alternative text for images, ensuring sufficient color contrast, and using headings and other structural elements to organize content.

Additionally, all third-party tools used for creating and distributing emails and newsletters must be tested for accessibility as required by the University's purchasing policy. Before purchasing or using any third-party tools, please ensure that they meet accessibility standards and have been tested accordingly.

If you have any questions or concerns about the accessibility of your emails or newsletters, please reach out to the University's accessibility team for guidance and support.
