Campus Recreation includes three fitness spaces: Campus Recreation Center, the Fitness Center at CARE/Crawley, and the Siddall Fitness Center. Our three facilities offer many ways for members to get active – from cardio and weight equipment, to group fitness, swimming pools, a climbing wall and more. Job Title and Overview
An Intramural Official is responsible for fairly maintaining game play and mitigating risk. Officials must understand the rules of the current sport they are officiating and be able to make fair and unbiased judgments through play.
Essential Job Functions
- Officiate intramural contests for various sports.
- Possess thorough knowledge of the Intramural Sports Rules and Handbook.
- Attend all mandatory trainings and meetings.
- Adhere to and enforce risk management guidelines and policies.
- Complete all necessary paperwork.
- Effectively communicate with fellow staff members, participants, and spectators in a professional manner regarding UC Intramural Sports.
- Assist with facility set-up and tear-down.
- Conduct and/or assist with daily cleaning operations.
- Abide by all staff policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Procure concussion recognition certification and handle situations involving suspected concussions.
- Assist in marketing the Intramural Sports program.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 16 years of age
Enrolled at a post-secondary institution or a secondary school at least part-time (one (1) or more credit hours if at a post-secondary institution), except for summer term, or will be a registered student during the next academic term.
Essential Certifications within 30 days of hire
- Clery Certification
- Fire Extinguisher Certification
- NFHS Concussion in Sports Certification
Additional Information
- Campus Recreation provides additional development opportunities for staff beyond job duties including the possibility to attend varying conferences at state, regional, and national levels, as well as inner-departmental committee opportunities through our student-led organization, Recreational Development & Leadership (RDL).
- This position may require early mornings, late nights, and weekends.

Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate - $11.40/hour
- 20% discount of programs and services (excluding Pro Shop)
