The Aquatics Group Fitness Instructor leads group water workouts with participants from the pool. Some of the Aquatic Fitness Classes we offer include deep and shallow water aerobics, hydro-fit, and stroke and turn clinics as other creative water workouts. Water Fitness Instructors should be able to lead several group workouts of varying skill levels and intensities.
Pay Rate - $12.15-$25/hr. based on experience and certifications
The Climbing Wall Specialist is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the University of Cincinnati Campus Recreation Center Climbing Wall including maintaining a safe climbing environment, processing and scheduling course enrollments and payments, selling Pro Shop merchandise, and issuing equipment. Successful candidates must ensure members, prospective members, rental groups, and guests are presented with a safe and enjoyable environment.
Pay rate - $11.40/hr.
The Fitness Floor Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the safety and well-being of the fitness floor at the Campus Recreation Center, including answering patron questions and concerns, maintaining machines and equipment, assisting patrons with spotting and providing proper machine instruction.
Pay rate - $11/hr.
A nationally recognized group exercise certification is required to be considered for employment.
Group Fitness Instructors will be responsible for leading multiple group fitness classes that range in variety and levels. This includes counting, cueing, organizing choreography, and planning playlists ahead of class time.
Pay rate - $15.00-$18.00/hr.
Intramural Sports Officials are responsible for creating a safe, positive experience for Intramural Sports participants. While the primary role is officiating Intramural Sports activities, this position will also assist with event management including set-up and tear down, participant interaction, and other duties as assigned. Officials need to communicate effectively, work well on a team and demonstrate a desire to improve. Officials’ training is provided, but a basic knowledge of the sports the applicant intends to work in is recommended.
- Average hours: 4-20 hours per week
- Pay rate - $11.40/hr.
- Work locations: Campus Recreation Center Courts, Gettler Stadium, Nippert Stadium, Dabney Sand Volleyball Court
- Operating hours: Sundays, noon - 11:45 p.m.; Mondays– Thursdays, 4 – 11:45 pm
An active American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certification is required to be considered for this position.
Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining the safety of the patrons and staff in the Aquatic Center by practicing active, preventative lifeguarding skills, and providing emergency care in the case of an emergency. Please email autumn.cleverley@uc.edu if you have any questions.
Pay rate - $12.40/hr. during the school year, $13.40/hr. during the summer
Currently Certified? Attend one of our upcoming skills tests.
You must have a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR and AED certification. Skills tests are offered on a monthly basis and include a test of the ability to complete cross-lifeguarding saves and prerequisites. This time will also include a brief interview.

The Member Services Staff is responsible for granting access to the facility, processing and scheduling services and payments, selling memberships, and issuing equipment. Staff members must provide members, prospective members, and guests with accurate information about University of Cincinnati Campus Recreation.
Pay rate - $11.40/hr.
Current nationally-recognized personal training certification (ACSM, NSCA, NASM, or ACE preferred) and American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid for Professional Rescuers certification required to be considered for this position.
Personal Trainers assess, discuss, motivate, and teach clients how to improve their physical fitness, strength or physique. By providing quality, personalized instruction, the personal trainer is to challenge the client, by providing a fun, safe and professional approach towards to the client’s goals.
Pay rate - $15.00-$18.00/hr.
The Building Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Campus Recreation Center, including equipment setup and maintenance, special event management, assisting other student staff groups, and customer service. Successful candidates must ensure members, prospective members, rental groups, and guests are presented with a safe and enjoyable environment.
Pay rate - $13.40/hr.
We are seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Team Member to join the Campus Recreation team. The ideal candidate is a current UC student with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and a passion for design. The designer is responsible for creating engaging social media graphics that align with the department’s branding and mission. A strong portfolio showcasing previous design work is required.
Pay rate - $13.40/hr.
Swim Lesson Instructors are responsible for instructing American Red Cross progressive swim lessons and teaching participants to be safe when they are in, on and around water. Lessons are available to infants/toddlers, preschoolers, youth, and adults in group and/or private lessons. We are also looking for swim instructors to coach junior swim team style classes, stroke clinics, and master's level swim practices. Positions are available to both certified and uncertified staff.
Pay Rate - $13.15/hr. for Certified Staff holding active American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certifications
Pay rate - $12.15/hr. for non-certified assisting instructors
