UC felt like a community where I would be supported, challenged, and empowered to grow into a woman I could be proud of.

Jordyn's UHP Journey
Jordyn Bailey, a Nursing major whose Honors Experiences have included a clinical study-abroad in Thailand, a year mentoring for the College of Nursing’s iLead program, and leadership in campus organizations, calls community “the defining thread of my UC and UHP journey.”
For Bailey, that community showed up most strongly through an Honors Experience centered on the Kuamka leadership pageant. Bailey recalls that the process pushed her to embrace “both my individuality and the collective strength of the community that supports me,” as she prepared for an intensive series of competitive events. In looking back on her successful competition, Bailey reflects on the process’s most lasting lesson: “the energy, care, and love we pour into others is always returned in powerful and lasting ways.”
As she looks forward to pursuing a career in women’s health, Bailey knows she has the confidence and foundational skills she’ll need along the way to succeed, thanks to her time at UC and the UHP. In her words: “Choosing UC has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!”
