UHP Creative Fellows

Welcome to the UHP’s newest signature experience – UHP Creative Fellows! This structured, semester-long experience invites participants to explore and embrace a creative mindset as they complete a series of themed challenges over the course of thirteen weeks. Each challenge will require creativity, experimentation, and reflection of varying levels, allowing students to meaningfully engage in both the process and final products. Whether you're a novice creative or a visionary maestro, UHP Creative Fellows aims to provide students of all disciplines, backgrounds, and levels the opportunity to create and connect.

Selected participants will engage in a small cohort alongside the project coordinator and a community partner for one part of the experience as they undertake design thinking and creative initiatives. While challenge themes will be provided throughout the semester, participants have the agency to tackle each opportunity from their own approach, placing independent, creative freedom at the core of this experience. 

Participants of UHP Creative Fellows engage with the following objectives: 

1.) Employ creative, interdisciplinary inquiry and innovation to address complex questions or challenges, draw on new perspectives, and build skills beyond their primary field of study. 

2.) Cultivate and apply a creative mindset by embracing experimentation, learning from setbacks, and valuing the iterative process of discovery alongside reflection and advancement. 

3.) Engage with peers, community partners, and individuals from various backgrounds to enhance perspectives and demonstrate openness to varying viewpoints. 

4.) Articulate rationale, process, and impact when it comes to one's ideas and creative projects.
