For Participants

UHP students make an impact on the local community each semester by volunteering on our days of service. These days of service are often in collaboration with the Hoffman Honors Scholars program and/or in partnership with the Center for Community Engagement and local agencies to provide UHP students opportunities to volunteer with other UHP peers. Times, locations, and opportunities will vary each semester. Pre-registration on both GetInvolvedUC and volunteer.uc.edu are required to participate.

Monday, Oct. 12th Day of Service

Join fellow honors students in supporting local community organizations through one of three volunteer opportunities. Volunteer spots are limited and require a separate registration through volunteer.uc.edu:

  • Morning Options
    • Transportation will not be provided for morning sites, so plan to walk/drive or be sure to secure the free UC Metro Pass as soon as possible, if you have not already. Or you may have to pay bus fares.
    • Civic Garden Center (9 AM-12 PM)
    • St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry (8:30 AM-12 PM)
  • Afternoon Option
    • Cincinnati Animal CARE (2-4 PM)
      • Transportation provided.
      • Support shelter animals through enrichment activities and animal interaction opportunities.
      • CAC volunteer registration

Saturday, Nov. 21st Day of Service

Volunteer spots are limited and require a separate registration through volunteer.uc.edu:

St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry (8:30 AM-12 PM)

  • Assist with food pantry operations and support local food security efforts.
  • Transportation will not be provided for morning sites, so plan to walk/drive or be sure to secure the free UC Metro Pass as soon as possible, if you have not already. Or you may have to pay bus fares.
