My UHP experience inĀ five words

Inspiring, motivating, exciting, explorative, and reflective.

Why UHP is for me

UHP is for me as it's a beautiful community that stands for reflection, self improvement, and making the world a better place. Within the different activities I do whether that be volunteering at the hospital or being a part of my Muslim Student Association, these core themes are very crucial to me as they foster an important sense of growth. Throughout my time in the introductory course to the UHP program, I have truly seen how much UHP cares for their students not only to excel in their academic careers but also personal lives and I truly appreciate that.

The honors experience that made the biggest impact on me

I joined UHP during the spring semester of my freshman year so as of now I haven't completed any honors experiences. However during the summer before my sophomore year I have been working on a self designed honors experience that I have really been enjoying. I created a podcast where I reflect on the Quran and hadith and how it teaches lessons for self improvement. My faith is very important to me and I would love to teach others about it one day so this has been a very special experience of teaching myself whilst also teaching others. It helps me feel closer to my faith and that means a lot to me so as of now this honors experience has had the biggest impact on me.

If I could go back in time and give myself one piece of advice

The UHP is a diverse community of so many talented individuals with various goals in life. It can be easy to feel behind when seeing everyones accomplishments but it's important to remember that everyone is on their own path. We will all accomplish our own special things God-willing so don't be afraid of what the future holds but rather look forward to it.

What I'm most looking forward to this year

I am most looking forward to meeting new people and getting more involved in the UHP and UC community through volunteering and extracurriculars to hopefully create a positive impact.
