Pursue a UHP Micro-Credential
The University Honors Program (UHP) offers micro-credentials that recognize students who have completed a series of experiences demonstrating concentration in our competency areas. These micro-credentials certify students who take intentional steps toward deepening their learning in specific areas while showcasing their accomplishments through digital credentials verified by the University of Cincinnati.
We are excited to launch our first micro-credentials in Leadership and Research—two areas that reflect current student interests. These credentials formally recognize students who invest deeply in their development as leaders and scholars through experiential learning. By completing three or more honors experiences in either leadership or research, students can showcase their growth in critical thinking, collaboration, and professionalism in ways that will help them elevate their impact.
Getting Started
First, you will choose to focus some of your honors experiences in either leadership or research. As you progress through the program, you’ll immerse yourself in at least three experiences aligned with that competency area. We have identified honors seminars and pre-approved experiences that fulfill these requirements, and self-designed experiences can be considered with approval from your honors advisor.
Throughout each experience, you’ll have the opportunity to reflect on your personal growth, the skills you’re building, and the impact you’re making. Once you’ve completed your third experience, you’ll pull these insights together in your Elevate Your Impact reflection—a chance to showcase your achievements and articulate your development to advisors and future employers.
After submitting your reflection and having it reviewed by your UHP advisor, you’ll be awarded your micro-credential. This digital badge is verified by UC, easy to share with employers and graduate schools, and a powerful way to demonstrate your dedication, expertise, and commitment to continuous learning.
