University Honors Program
Address to UHP Community re: COVID-19
Dear UHP students and community,
We hope you are doing well. We recognize that this is a high-stress time, as the whole world struggles with the challenges and changes caused by COVID-19. Please do all you can to stay safe, stay well, and take care of yourself and the people in our community by doing what you can to reduce the spread of the virus.
We wanted to update you on the University Honors Program’s (UHP) response to COVID-19 and share resources to support you as we all adapt.
The UHP staff will all be working remotely until further notice.
While the UHP will be open for business during regular business hours during this time, it will be open remotely. The physical office in Swift will be closed.
UHP advisors and staff will hold student appointments over the phone or via an online platform (ex. Microsoft Teams or WebEx).
If you currently have an honors advising or other appointment scheduled with a UHP staff member, you will be contacted by that person to determine how you would like to have your appointment (via phone or an online platform).
If you need to schedule an appointment, please reach out to your honors advisor via Starfish, phone, or email.
We will continue to provide updates via the UHP weekly newsletter (listserv). Please read it for opportunities and updates.
We also wanted to share information about succeeding in online courses. UC Online has some great tips, tricks, and resources for students taking online courses. Here is a link to UC Online. In addition, stay connected to the Learning Commons as they update resources and support through their office. If you have any concerns about completing your coursework in an online format, please reach out to your academic advisor.
Furthermore, we recognize that this situation may be causing worry and anxiety and that the practice of social distancing can lead to feelings of isolation. Please stay connected to your friends and family with regular updates and remember that there are many resources available to you. CAPS has a great list of services and resources on their website.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to anyone in the UHP for support or assistance. We are all in this together and will do all we can to support all members of our community.
All best and take care,
The UHP Team
Passionate People Changing the World
UHP is committed to helping students maximize their educational opportunities at UC while discovering and pursuing their passions in life and using their gifts and talents to make meaningful contributions to society. We believe experiential learning and consistent reflection can help students leave their unique imprint on campus and in their communities.
The University Honors Program comprises students in the top 7% of University of Cincinnati undergraduates, nearly 1500 in total across all nine colleges. We offer an inclusive community in which students are inspired to get involved from their very first semester on campus. Our students enhance their skills in leadership, research, creativity, global studies, and community engagement to then graduate among the most competitive professionals in the world.
To that end, we are invested in developing students into global citizen scholars who lead innovative efforts toward solving the world's complex problems.
