My UHP experience in five words

Experimental, impactful, social, challenging, introspective

Why UHP is for me

I think UHP is for me because it offers so many opportunities for growth as a student. In the short amount of time I’ve been involved, I feel like I’ve already learned so much about myself, my interests, and my long-term goals. Being able to apply for unique experiences and seminars has given me the chance to explore subjects I’m passionate about, while also fulfilling requirements for my major.

Advice for anyone interested in UHP

Reach out for help! Everyone in the community wants to see you learn and grow during your time at UC and there are many amazing resources you can rely on to succeed as a member of the University Honors Program. It may seem intimidating at first, but the program is so much fun and really expands what it means to be a UC student.

An honors experience I'll never forget

I’m currently involved in the Tales of Resilience experience, which I’m really enjoying! The experience focuses on mental and emotional health through the popular RPG Dungeons and Dragons, and everyone involved is so passionate about making it a positive learning environment. I’m excited to see what the rest of the experience has in store! I’m also looking forward to taking more Honors seminars, especially ones that focus on subjects that I’m interested in, but aren’t required for my major.

What my future holds

UHP has given me the opportunity to think beyond what I expected my college experience to be. After meeting with other Honors students, I’m looking forward to developing my own self-designed experience based on what I’m passionate about. I’m also hopeful that my role as an ambassador will help me grow as a leader and public speaker.
