My UHP experience in five words

Fun, Productive, Exciting, Enlightening, and Creative

Why UHP is for me

For me, UHP is a space for me to foster my leadership and public speaking skills, while also participating in areas that can build my expertise in political science and journalism as well. This program has improved my collegiate experience because of the amazing opportunities it has for students to excel in whatever field they are passionate about. As an honors student, I was able to travel abroad for the first time to Germany and received my first research internship through the UHP Discover program. Without UHP, I wouldn't have as nearly the amount of experience that I do now to fully reach my potential as a student at UC and beyond.

Advice for anyone interested in UHP

to take advantage of all of the resources that UHP has to offer! There are so many distinct programs within the honors program that can fit what you are looking for as a student. So, take the time to look into the various seminars, study tours, and pre-approved experiences that honors students have the privilege of completing if you are looking to expand your knowledge and creativity!

An honors experience I’ll never forget

My favorite honors experience has been the Democratizing Healthcare Honors Seminar/Study Tour in Frankfurt and Duisburg, Germany

What my future holds

This year, I will be the new program assistant for the Women's Center on campus, as well as a Portman Center fellow. My goals for this upcoming school year is to complete more honors experiences that align with my career aspirations as an investigative/political journalist in the non-profit field, and that also coincide with what I am passionate about - freedom, justice, and awareness for disadvantaged populations.
