Research Mentor Training
Graduate student reseachers who are interested in mentoring undergraduate students in the Grad-Undergrad Research Connections program are required to complete Research Mentor Training.
In this 90-minute workshop, you will learn to:
- Understand the responsibilities of a research mentor and expectations of a mentee
- Recognize the qualities of a motivated mentee and develop strategies to effectively mentor them and maintain professional boundaries
- Outline an Individual Research Development Plan (IRDP) that integrates goals that are achievable through your mentor-mentee relationship
Grad students in the Grad-Undergrad Research Connections program are welcome to attend Research Mentor Training whether or not you intend to mentor a student through a research project.
Research Mentor Training is offered four times in fall 2019. You'll register for one of the sessions when you sign up for the Grad-Undergrad Research Connections program.
